When JT Remanufactures Your Transformer, You Get it Back in Better Than New Condition
What We Do
Jordan Transformer (JT) is the only company in the United States solely dedicated to remanufacturing mobile and substation transformers. We've remanufactured hundreds of transformers from more than 50 OEMs since 1973.
Chances are we’ve worked on more than a few transformers like yours. This is important because transformer designs vary by age, size, and OEM. And a remanufacturing design should not force your transformer into a single OEM’s approach. Our extensive experience and expertise will give you more options.
What We Don’t Do
We do not produce or sell new transformers, so we will never tell you that your transformer can not be remanufactured to sell you a new one.
We do not obtain discarded transformers, so we will never offer to take your old transformer off your hands to remanufacture it and sell it to someone else.
Better Than When It Was New
Our failure analyses capabilities and extensive experience allow lessons learned since 1973 to be incorporated into your remanufacturing design.
Along with potentially increasing your transformer's power rating to today's requirements, some of the upgrades that can be done to your original transformer include:
- Replacement of older load tap changers (LTCs) with more efficient, effective, and robust LTCs.
- JT’s strict design rules with requirements like end rings and full circle clamping that can withstand short circuit forces.
- Replacement of older gauges with modernized options that include remote access capabilities.
- Use of current industry standard materials like, Weidmann Crepe Paper which conforms better to the conductor.
- IEEE Class II Testing for reliability that can be measured in decades
Remanufacturing allows you to take advantage of the more robust design of your current transformer, which was likely built with thicker steel than today's models. It also likely has a more spacious interior design because older transformers were engineered so they could operate cooler.
